CAMILE N. CAMPAGNA
Camile Campagna is living her childhood dream of becoming an attorney and using the law to uplift others. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, magna cum laude, from Defiance College in 2007, where she was awarded the Outstanding Senior Criminal Justice Award. Her passion for service was evident early on through her participation in the Bonner Service Leadership Program, which led her to volunteer building homes both in her native Jamaica and in Biloxi, Mississippi—before and after Hurricane Katrina.
Camile was also accepted into the prestigious McMaster School for Advancing Humanity, an initiative committed to improving the human condition worldwide. As a McMaster Scholar, she traveled to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where she partnered with the Cambodia Women’s Crisis Center. There, she conducted research on the social, economic, and psychological factors that help women transition from violent relationships to independent, self-sufficient lives.

Before entering law school, Camile worked as a juvenile corrections officer, and later as a career transition specialist for Job Corps—the largest residential career training program for young adults in the U.S.—supporting youth through critical phases of growth and reentry.
Camile went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law. At Hofstra, she served as the Executive Research Editor of the Family Court Review and received a Certificate of Study in Family Law. She was also a Child and Family Advocacy Fellow—a prestigious, multidisciplinary fellowship designed to cultivate leaders committed to improving the family court system through collaborative, child-centered advocacy. As a fellow, she focused her efforts on representing children in juvenile dependency and immigration cases.
Today, Attorney Campagna continues to combine compassion, integrity, and client-centered advocacy in her work—dedicated to empowering families and helping individuals navigate the legal system with strength and dignity.
Before founding Campagna Law, P.A., Camile built a strong foundation in litigation, public service, and client advocacy through a wide range of legal roles. Her career reflects a deep commitment to justice, community service, and the protection of vulnerable populations. Her previous roles include:
- Injunction for Protection Project Attorney: Advocated for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Sarasota and Desoto Counties, by representing them in Family Court proceedings and securing protective orders on their behalf.
- Assistant County Attorney (Sarasota County-Civil Litigation): Advised and represented county officials and employees in a variety of complex civil matters, primarily in the areas of workers’ compensation, Florida’s Sunshine Law and Public Records Act, personal injury, code enforcement, bond forfeitures, collections/subrogation, and eminent domain.
- Assistant State Attorney (12th Judicial Circuit): Prosecuted criminal cases—including felonies, misdemeanors, criminal traffic violations, and juvenile delinquency—conducting jury trials and working closely with law enforcement and victims.
- Associate Attorney (Private Practice):Represented clients in family law and civil legal matters such as personal injury, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, juvenile dependency, divorce, and injunctions for protection.
- Assistant Corporation Counsel (New York City Law Department): Served as a member of the Juvenile Delinquency Unit acting as Presentment Agency in Family Court proceedings involving juvenile offenses, prioritizing deterrence, treatment and rehabilitation.
Camile is admitted in the state courts of both New York and Florida, and federally in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, the Fred G. Minnis, Sr. Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, and the New York State Bar.
